CYC Cruising Club

The Commonwealth Yacht Club board of directors created the position of Fleet Captain in 2006 to promote cruising within the CYC.  Everyone in the club is invited to join in the fun and sign up now for these cruises.  Experienced or Novice, Power boater or Sailor, there is something here for everyone. April 19 - 2nd Annual BBQ at Smith
Bay

The BBQ will kick off the 2008 cruising season.  We will gather at 3 PM for a blessing of the fleet, great food and fun.  Meat will be provided but please bring a side dish to share.

May 17 & 18 - Cruise to Golconda, IL

Spend the day cruising to Golconda, once there we will gather for dinner.

May 24th - Lighted Boat Parade

Line up will be at 7PM with a cruise and judging.  We will return to the Yacht Club for dinner and awards.

June 7 - Rendezvous Pisgah Bay

We will gather at 3 PM for an afternoon of floating and friendship.  Please bring an appetizer and beverage to share.

July 4th - Raft Up for Fireworks

We will have an early dinner at the Yacht Club, leave as a group and head towards Kentucky Dam Marina where we will raft up to watch the fireworks.

 


July 19 - Poker Run

Boats will be stationed at various local coves.  The run will be from 12 PM until 4 PM.  The last card will be drawn at GTB.  Winners will be announced during dinner at the Yacht Club that evening.

July 31 thru August 3 - Cruise to Cedar Creek or Clifton, TN

More details to follow.  Let us know which cruise you prefer.

September 6 - 3rd Annual Seafood Boil

The third annual seafood boil on Smith Beach will be great food and fun for all.  We will start at 3 PM.  Bring an appetizer or dessert to share and you own beverage.  Seafood will be provided.

September 26 - Treasure Chest Drawing

Donate $5 and enter your name one time at each of the cruise events you attend.  A winner will be drawn during the beach party for the Regatta.  You could win half the treasure.  The other half will be donated to a local charity.

Clarksville Downtown Dock.  This dock has no electricity or water. There is no cost to dock there, but you must contact the Parks & Recreation folks (Jennifer Byard if available) at (931) 645-7476 for a reservation.

Nashville Downtown Dock (Called the A dock) This dock has electricity (standard 30 and 50 amp connections) as well as water. Contact the people at the Hamilton Creek Marina at (615) 862-8472 for a reservation.
