Clarksville Cruise, July 31st - Aug. 2, 2009.

Stu Schwalm our distance fleet captain made the right contacts and arrangements at Clarksville Tennessee. He planned opportunities for shopping, shows, dancing, and food. Even the weather was great to visit with the locals that came to view our fleet and ask questions.

We received a warm welcome as we lined the wharf at Clarksville with seven cruisers’ Twelve cruisers were planning to attend with a told of 31 people, but due to problems five cruisers canceled. Each day eighteen Cruise Club members cooked group breakfasts’ and appetizers. The cool evening strolls to dinner help displace some of the extra calories. Thanks to good planning, no one went thirsty, as there seemed to be enough grape juice to keep everyone happy.

Sandy Sutterer experienced her first lock through and received a high rating from those who join her on Whiskey River. Even the Lock Master was impressed. Thanks Kurt and Sandy for a great day on the water.

The only thing missing from our cruise were those who could not make the trip. We are a growing group. The new friends and memories we make with each cruise create a new smile in our lives. Mary Anne Osborn best summarized the emails I received. “Days on the water are extra special and it's even more fun when you make new friends.  We can't wait till the next one!”
