CYC Cruising Club

The Commonwealth Yacht Club board of directors created the position of Fleet Captain in 2006 to promote cruising within the CYC.  Everyone in the club is invited to join in the fun and sign up now for these cruises.  Experienced or Novice, Power boater or Sailor, there is something here for everyone. April 25th -Blessing of the Fleet


This event will kick off the 2009 cruising season in the GTB harbor at 2:00 PM.  Then join us at the GTB beach at 4:00 PM, bring an appetizer to share and beverages.

May 23rd - Lighted Boat Parade

Line up will be at 7:30PM with a cruise and judging.  We will return to the Yacht Club for dinner and awards.

June 6th - 3rd Annual BBQ at Smith Bay

It is a beach party with live music.  We will setup by 1:00 PM for fun and music.  BBQ will be served at 5:00 PM.  Bring a side dish to share.  BBQ provided, $10/person donation.

July 4th - Raft-up for Fireworks

In the afternoon we will gather on the GTB beach for a flag retirement ceremony and to enjoy hotdogs and drinks.  At dusk, we will raft up near the west side of Kentucky dam to watch fireworks.

July 18th - CYC Poker Run

Enjoy a cruise and a chance to play poker against others in the poker run.  Then gather at 7:00 PM at the CYC for the final card draw.

July 31st - Aug. 2nd - Cruise to Clarksville

Join the CYC cruise to Clarksville for the weekend: shopping, tours, dining, entertainment and friendship.

 


Aug. 28th - Aug. 30th - Cruise to Kenlake Marina for Hot August Blues

Cruise, sail, houseboat or car; this is your opportunity to join a cruise.  Come for the day or weekend, we are working on additional details.

September 19th - 4th Annual Seafood Boil

The fourth annual seafood boil will move to Pisgah Bay. So come by land or water.  We will start at 3 PM.  Bring an appetizer or dessert to share and your own beverage.  Seafood will be provided with a $10/person donation.

Clarksville Downtown Dock.  This dock has no electricity or water. There is no cost to dock there, but you must contact the Parks & Recreation folks (Jennifer Byard if available) at (931) 645-7476 for a reservation.

Nashville Downtown Dock (Called the A dock) This dock has electricity (standard 30 and 50 amp connections) as well as water. Contact the people at the Hamilton Creek Marina at (615) 862-8472 for a reservation.
